This FREE In-Person Elective equips attendees with the knowledge to understand and address housing affordability issues so you can serve as both a trusted REALTOR® and a community advocate.
The course is taught by Nate K. Johnson, 2024 Vice President of Advocacy for the National Association of REALTORS®. Johnson brings over two decades of experience as a REALTOR®, instructor, and national leader in areas including fair housing, Code of Ethics, business planning, and smart growth. To make this class especially relevant to our members, OBAR’s Government Affairs Director Donna Creef will join the session to provide local context and real examples from the Outer Banks. Donna brings more than 30 years of experience with the Dare County Planning Department, including twelve years as Planning Director, and is the president of the Dare County Housing Foundation.
This course is an excellent way to prepare if you’re considering serving on OBAR’s Government Affairs Committee, applying for a local Planning Board, or even running for public office in your town. Together, Nate and Donna will connect national expertise with local perspective, ensuring that you leave the course empowered with knowledge you can immediately apply to your business and your community.
