New NCREC Rule Changes Effective July 1st
Several rule changes from the NC Real Estate Commission go into effect July 1st, impacting brokers, firms, and education providers. Highlights include:
- Document delivery: Brokers must now deliver signed documents within three days of a client’s request. This is in addition to delivery within three days of receiving the executed document.
- License applications: Applicants who withdraw their license application after a Notice of Hearing must now file a formal Motion to Withdraw stating their reason. The Commission may prohibit them from reapplying for up to two years if good cause such as illness, a natural disaster, or hardship is not shown. Additionally, anyone denied licensure after a hearing will be required to wait two years before reapplying.
- Firm licensing: Firms with principals involved in disciplinary action cannot apply for licensure.
