The NORTH CAROLINA NATIONAL ESTUARINE RESEARCH RESERVE’S COASTAL TRAINING PROGRAM PRESENTS "Living on a Barrier Island - A Virtual Workshop for Real Estate Professionals". The WEBEX event is sponsored by the NC Department of Environmental Quality, Coastal Studies Institute, US Army Corp of Engineers, NC Cooperative Extension, and NC Department of Public Safety. Workshop Objectives – Participants will learn: •How barrier islands are unique from an ecological and geological perspective; •About the rules and policies that govern development on barrier islands; •About updates to the National Flood Insurance Program; and •About native plantings for the coastal landscape.
